Anyone who spends as much time on the internet as I have has probably seen some quite unusual things. One of the strangest I’ve come across is pictures of women holding various objects with just their vagina muscles! These are vaginal weightlifters, and while most women won’t want to hang dumbells or surfboards from their vaginas, there is a real reason for using vaginal weights. Vaginal weights are a great tool to aid with tightening up your vagina muscles.

Have you ever wondered if your vagina is a tight as it used to be? Don’t feel shy about it! It’s actually something that most women think about at some point in their lives. Whether it’s because of giving birth, having some large things put in there, or even just because you’re getting a bit older, a loose vagina can be a worry for all kinds of women. You don’t have to just put up with it though! There are a number of solutions that can all help you get that tight feeling back.

Vaginal weights are one of the most common things a woman can use to help tone up her vagina. These come in a variety of different shapes and sizes, but the most common will be a ball which you insert and then hold in place to strengthen your internal muscles. It’s a lot like any other kind of weightlifting you might do at the gym, but specifically designed for your vagina.

How do they work?

In order to understand the benefits of vaginal weights, you need to understand exactly what you’ve got going on down there first. There’s a very important group of muscles called the pelvic floor muscles or the pubococcygeus muscles. These form a kind of hammock or sling across the bottom of your torso, holding all your important internal organs in place. Over time, just simply from aging, this muscle group will become more relaxed, allowing your organs to sit lower in your abdomen. While it might sound comfortable and harmless, there’s actually a lot of things that can happen just because of a sagging pelvic floor. Key among these can be a loose vagina.

Using vaginal weights forces you to make use of your pelvic floor muscles to hold in the weight. Over time this helps you tone and tighten the muscle group and get your lower regions back into pristine condition.

Different kinds of vaginal weights

Although we mentioned that the most common type of vaginal weight is a ball, there are numerous variations on this which can be known by a number of different names. These include: Vagina Balls, Ben Wa Balls, Love Balls, Pleasure Balls, Kegel Exercisers, and many more. While these will all be variants on roughly the same thing, the important thing to remember is that they are all there to help you tone your pelvic floor muscles, so don’t be intimidated by the options you have!

While some vaginal weights are just one ball you insert and hold in place, others take different approaches. Some will have multiple balls attached by a small string or piece of silicone. These are usually different weights, so you are able to start with the lower weighted ball and when feeling comfortable with that move onto the heavier ones, and eventually use multiple balls at once! Love balls and pleasure balls usually take a different approach. Rather than relying solely on the weight of the ball to work your muscles, these balls sometimes are hollow, containing another smaller ball inside. This means that as you move around while holding the balls, they jiggle and vibrate, stimulating your muscles in a way similar to how they act during orgasms. Kegel exercisers tend to be similar to traditional vaginal weights, but usually come with either a tube which connects to another part kept outside your body, or work entirely wirelessly and pair up with an app on your phone. The point of this is to help you monitor how well you are performing your vaginal workouts. The app or external piece will give you feedback throughout your sessions, and some even come with an additional arm which stimulates the labia when you correctly perform your exercises.
